School janitor facing child abuse charges
MASON COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) - A janitor at New Haven Elementary in Mason County is facing child abuse charges after allegedly grabbing a student by the wrist, according to a criminal complaint.
Daniel Dillon, 59, was charged with one felony count of child abuse resulting in injury after an incident that occurred in November of last year.
According to a criminal complaint, Dillon was working as a custodian at the school when he became upset with a 6-year-old student and grabbed the student by the wrist and began squeezing.
The complaint states Dillon left red marks and swelling on the child’s arm.
The complaint also states Dillon dragged the child by their wrist, not listening when another employee asked him to let go.
WSAZ has reached out to Mason County Schools to see if Dillon is still employed. We have not heard back.
