Man charged with alleged sexual abuse

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) - A suspect was arrested in connection to a reported sexual assault on Monday, according to the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies say they responded to a residence in Chelyan on Monday about a reported sexual assault.

Deputies also say they spoke with two victims, who alleged that James Craig Jr., 40, approached them in the parking lot of the Chelyan Post Office and followed them to their residence.

The victims also told deputies they told Craig not to come onto the property, but he allegedly refused and continued following them.

Craig allegedly left the area after the incident, deputies say.

Deputies say Craig was later located and charged with first-degree sexual abuse.

He was arraigned by a Kanawha County Magistrate, who set a $50,000 cash-only bond.
