Tractor-trailer dangles from bridge over Ohio River; driver rescued

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE/Gray News) – A driver was rescued after tractor-trailer was left dangling above the Ohio River following a crash crossing the Clark Memorial Bridge in Kentucky on Friday.

The crash was reported around 12:15 p.m. The truck appears to have traveling northbound when it crossed the southbound lanes through the guardrail.

The cab remained attached to the trailer.

Louisville firefighters used a ladder truck to lower a first responder to the driver’s side of the rig to reach the driver.

The bridge is closed to traffic.
