Third arrest in arson/burglary case
UPDATE 1/28/25 @ 12:48 p.m.
LOGAN COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) - A third person has been arrested in connection with a burglary and arson that happened earlier this month in the Mallory area of Logan County.
West Virginia State Police say Josh Ellis was arrested late Monday night in Man. He is charged with grand larceny and conspiracy.
Robert W. Bringle is charged with first-degree arson, burglary, grand larceny and conspiracy. He was arrested earlier Monday.
Troopers say the fire happened Jan. 13 at a home in the 300 block of Mallory Hollow Road. Troopers say they believe the burglary happened before Jan. 13, and they believe the suspects set the fire in an effort to get rid of evidence. Troopers say the homeowner was out of town for both incidents.
Investigators say Chelsay J. Dotson, who was already in custody on unrelated charges at the Southwestern Regional Jail, is also charged in connection with the incident.
Dotson is charged with conspiracy.
Troopers say the State Fire Marshal’s Office confirmed the fire was arson related.
