We the People | Greenup County roadside war memorial

GREENUP COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) – There are war memorials all over our area, and one of them is now a quarter century old.

It honors many from Greenup County who gave the ultimate sacrifice.

So, if you’re driving on U.S. 23 in eastern Kentucky, keep an eye on the road and another looking for the Greenup County War Memorial.

“It’s very much a healing place, whether it’s a veteran or a family member that comes,” one man told WSAZ’s Jim Treacy. “We have ceremonies twice a year and some family members come and don’t even know they don’t have family on the wall until they get here.”
