Teacher accused of sending explicit photos of underage boys to undercover officer
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE/Gray News) - A Kentucky teacher was arrested Thursday and charged with distributing and possessing child pornography.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Western District of Kentucky, 51-year-old Brian Hinds distributed child sexual abuse material depicting prepubescent boys to an undercover law enforcement officer in August.

Authorities said Hinds, a teacher at duPont Manual’s Youth Performing Arts School, admitted to both sending and receiving such material through online messaging apps during an Oct. 9 interview.
Hinds is a theater teacher at YPAS, but authorities have not yet identified any victim who is a current or former student at the high school.
In a release, the attorney’s office said if any such victims are identified, authorities will immediately make contact with their parents and or guardians.
In an email that was sent to families of Manual students, Jefferson County Public Schools said that it has been made aware of the allegations against Hinds, but the allegations were not connected to the school.
School officials also said that, while the investigation is ongoing, Hinds will not be reporting to Manual or YPAS.
Hinds appeared in a district court on Friday. If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of 40 years in prison.
Additionally, the FBI and the Louisville Metro Police are investigating.
