Duke knocks Herd out of NCAA tournament

DURHAM, N.C. (WSAZ) - A six run second inning was all the cushion Duke needed Saturday night in the NCAA softball tournament. The Blue Devils hit two home runs in that half inning which included a grand slam as they end Marshall’s season with a score of 11-1. The Herd got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the fifth on a Paige Simpson double which scored Sydney Turner.

The Herd ends the season with an impressive record of 38-19 and their third trip to the NCAA softball tournament.
