Fallen tree kills woman during severe weather

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (WJLA via CNN) - A woman was killed after a tree fell on her Thursday night in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, according to the Prince George’s County Police Department.
Officers responded around 8:42 p.m. on June 11 for a report of a person trapped beneath a tree.
When officers arrived, they found an adult woman underneath the fallen tree. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident occurred as powerful thunderstorms swept through the area Thursday evening, bringing damaging winds, downed trees, and power outages across parts of Maryland, Virginia, and D.C.
The Upper Marlboro incident happened minutes before another fatal incident in neighboring Montgomery County, where another person was killed by a fallen tree.
PGPD officials have not yet released the identity of the woman killed in Upper Marlboro.
Authorities continue to investigate both incidents.
