CABELL COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A man was taken into custody Tuesday evening after evading law enforcement officers by floating down the Ohio River on a log, our crew at the scene says.

Law enforcement officers in Cabell County are looking for a suspect floating down the Ohio River on a log.

According to the Cabell County Sheriff's Department, it happened Tuesday evening after a domestic incident in the Greenbottom area, near the Cabell-Mason county line.

The suspect has been identified as Randall Lee Mays II of Culloden, West Virginia.

Investigators say when deputies showed up, Mays jumped in his car, drove that car in the river, then jumped in the river and floated downriver on a log to get away from deputies.

Mays was eventually pulled from the river and taken to a waiting ambulance. It's unknown what charges he faces.
